Everyday Matters #29 Architecture

This is the courthouse in our town. We have a wonderful little square-2.5 of the sides still have the original buildings. One whole side is now a parking lot. It seems to me that many of those who have lived here all their lives are the most likely to undervalue the old buildings. They scorn the Mayberry-ness of it, while those of us who came here later in life cherish that same quality. I've got nothing against progress as long as it does not erase the past at the same time. Ok, stepping down from my soapbox now.

Wow! nice work. I'm going out tomorrow to challange myself with buildings too. I love both of these!

Lovely drawing Joyce! You have a unique style. Loved your appliance too!

I love how you filled the entire page with this, and the strong, dark lines of the drawing on the right. Well done!

I really admire your journal drawings. Especially like how this one inhabits the whole page. And I'd join you on the soapbox if there's room. I live in a small town that's become a small city since I moved here. Everywhere you go, they're taking down beautiful old home putting up cookie cutter mini mansions. Progress.
