Making Marks

I've been playing a little with the Copic markers. I found these old sketches (complete with mean notes to myself about my lack of talent!) and decided to mark them up with the new markers. I like the way you can blend them together by going back over them with the lighter color. If you want to see someone who is really good with these visit Janey.

I think it's interesting that I was trying to draw people then too, but I had a lot less patience with myself a few years ago. I would draw, get fed up and not draw again for months.....not a very good way to improve! I'm sure having more fun now!

It's so good to have you back! You can see so much improvement since you drew these - I'm glad you don't beat yourself up anymore, that doesn't work ;)! Glad things are working out for you, maybe we won't have to wait so long between posts :)!

I think you have found yourself a new and great expression with your Coptics. I have used them some too but have to hide them from my grandaughter who would just love to cover a whole page with one color.

Joyce, long time, no see! It is wonderful to rediscover your blog and your work. I'm so looking forward to seeing what you've been up to. These colored sketches are great---you were wrong to be so hard on yourself!!

Hi Joyce Great to see you back ;0)
Looks like you are enjoying those copics. I have never heard of them, here in aus!

My sympathy and prayers for your daughter's loss. So young, it is very sad.

Oh, it looks like you're having FUN playing with the new markers! Do you have one of the adapters that lets you blow them like an airbrush?

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and comments. These markers come in sooo many colors, and they don't have such a strong smell as the design markers I used to use. Linda, I don't have one of those adapters, but wouldn't that be fun?!
