Eagle Lake

I went along while Joe took Darryl and Colleen mountain biking. Darryl said he liked it. Colleen not so much. Joe and Mike are just passionate about mountain biking and they just don't understand why everyone isn't into it! I'm that way about drawing too so I guess I understand.

This beautiful lake is in one of their favorite places to bike--Fort Custer Park in Michigan. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about foliage--so many of the things I want to draw are outside-I have to figure it out!

I just HAVE to ask you-- how long does it take you to complete a picture like this? Or your salt and pepper shakers? Your drawing just looks so natural, like it flows right out your pencil, or pen, or... Mine are full of eraser marks--I keep starting over!

Welllll, that's a good question...I don't keep track of time very well....just ask anyone who knows me! I would guess I drew this one in about an hour or an hour and a half. The salt and pepper shakers maybe 15 minutes?

Since I started drawing with EDM I haven't been using an eraser which actually helps me move along better. When I make a wrong line, I just redraw it--you can still see the odd lines. I used to use pencil and eraser, but I rarely finished anything because I got caught up in erasing and redrawing- over and over and over and over.....LOL. Switching to a pen and learning to love imperfections is really freeing for me.
