I have beautiful kids....really!
Colleen made me promise to post pics, so you would not believe my drawings. LOL. As you can see she really is a pretty girl (inside and out, too).
These are the photos I used to try drawing more people tonite.
This is Anotai, our exchange student from Thailand.
and here are the crazy drawings--please read Colleen's comments which I included on the page. I'm posting them anyway though....cause you know, you have to start somewhere, right? After reading Laura's blogpost about noses, I was trying to put some real noses on them.
I also have a handsome son that I could probably make look like an old, creepy coot next!

Hi Joyce, I love your people sketches they are all very human looking. I have been browsing your blog and as usual I love what you have done.
Faces can be so challenging -- I've rendered my grandchildren to look like real weirdos .... you're on your way though ... and I applaud your sketches!
3 beautiful and lovely women! You must be so proud!! Lovely drawing too. BTW, I'm really appreciating my moleskine lately!! AND I'm using your trick of pasting a small card of watercolor paper into it to make it wc friendly. thank.s
Thank you for visiting my website. i am glad i got to see your wonderful work. The amount of drawings you are doing is amazing. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. TommyKane
Your faces are WONDERFUL! They look just like the beautiful models!
Joyce, Just wonderful, And the words Practice really stuck out for me today. Thats what I'm doing is trying to draw everything and even now in Pen was really hard to trafer over to it. I wonder how lomg it takes to where its like tying your'e shoe laces?
Thank-you so much for youre wonderful work,
Linda
P.S youre girl is beautyful!!
Beautiful kids...and your sketches were good, too!!
Aww, you guys make a girl feel so good...esp when I was feeling so unsure of myself. Lindsay, I am glad you are using the postcard trick....it's a good way to do little moleskine size watercolors and include them in your book.
I just found your blog- it's great and very inspiring...!
I love the way all your sketches come with annotations! Keep sketching!
Great idea to capture her thoughts there, too. It's only fair to let the models speak. Beautiful girl - you must be so proud!
Great looking kids!!!! And they are such good sports letting Mom sketch them too. ;) I think you did a wonderful job capturing the faces.
Well maybe there is something a little masculine about the sketch of Colleen, but you did manage to capture her essence. I like it. Colleen is a gorgeous girl. No wonder you are proud of her. :o)
awww, thanks! You all are so encouraging!
I enjoyed your whole site, but especially the drawings of your dd and f.e. daughter. Only 1 of my 6 kids are home yet, but they all have memories of sitting still for me. one asked me 'do you want to draw me putting on my deoderant?'.
your site makes me want to draw. thanks.
