Nature or nurture? I don't know, but I know my son had dolls, but didn't play with them. He was into trucks and toy guns. My daughter was crazy about dolls and dress-up. Of course, they were watching Joe and I, and I was taking care of babies and he was going off to work at construction sites everyday, so nurture might have had something to do with it!
This is another one for the Sketchbook Project.

I don't know, I think they're wired that way for the most part. My two are the same and I really don't know where the girl gets it. I am so NOT a girlie girl and her picture's next to it in the dictionary. I secretly call her the alien child because I really have no clue where she gets it from!
I think you're right about the wiring Karen. My girl was a girly girl ...she was all into clothes, dolls, sparkly pink anything, and she actually understood other girls. Me...not into clothes, hung out with guys because I thought they were nicer, and crazy about horses when I was a kid. My girl is 20 now and still girly, but she's also very athletic.
And my boy...all boy from day one...and I have to say, he is a sweet one. Not afraid to show his emotions, not afraid to be silly and fun.
My boys never had any interest in "soft toys" and their dad was the one staying home with them while I was at school being a teacher.
LOVE the illustration!
