Journal of my fantasy

After reading Art Supply porn http://www.dannygregory.com/weblog/archives/2004_04.html#000143 I thought I would share with you a few pages from a story my sister wrote and illustrated for me. All my life I have been facinated with a log cabin on a lake near where we grew up--Jennifer knows of my obsession/love of this place and last year for my birthday she wrote and illustrated a story for my birthday. In this story the fictional owner finds out about me and gifts me with the wonderful old place, and sets it up so that all the improvements needed are done to my liking (which means that it has indoor plumbing and modern appliances, but it all looks old, old, old). The book is one of the best gifts I have ever received. In it she indulges all my fantasies--I even find lots of wonderful old paintings hidden in the house-painted by a previous owner.















This is one of my favorite illustrations in the book--it is my sister and me paddleboating.





I get the keys to the cabin!
