High School Homework

I have been wanting to try to draw people, but find I am too chicken to do it when I think someone might see me. After all, usually the drawings are not the most flattering because I am just learning--so I am going to practice on my family. They are pretty understanding about my obsession.

It looks like I got her head kind of small in relation to the rest of her, but then again she is wearing a huge hooded sweatshirt so that could be part of the problem too. People shouldn't be any harder to draw than anything else, but they sure seem to be to me.

This could probably count as another interior too!

You know, to me, it just looks like she's wearing a big oversized hoodie. It looks very well done!

Good perspective on this. I like it.

like this, you've captured the scene really well (and to me from a difficult perspective), and I don't think the head looks too small at all.

and yay for your understanding family, I'm lucky to have understanding friends, and because of their help am almost over my fear, statues help too if there's a museum near!

This is great.... really well done. I like the shading, and the figure itself is really fine. All in the right proportion, and wearing a posture that says "homework" all over it. Great drawing.

Great job. I love all your details in a sketch.

You all are so encouraging....I think people may be so hard to draw because it is so easy to spot that something is wrong (because we are so intimately familiar with the human figure) but not so easy to know how to fix the problem. The answer is probably practice, practice, practice.

Joyce this is wonderful. I love that student slouch of concentration, the stamped title, your inclusion of journaling...OK, everything!

You shouldn't be afraid at all, for you are naturally a wonderful sketcher! I think you will surprise yourself once you get going. I hope to see more! :) BRAVO!
